About The Position

The Banquet Manager at Hotel Captain Cook is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all floor activities and functions within the banquet department. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively supervise, schedule, and monitor the performance of the banquet staff to ensure seamless operations during events. The Banquet Manager will provide professional assistance to both clients and staff throughout various functions held at the hotel, ensuring that all activities conform to the high standards set by Hotel Captain Cook. In this role, the Banquet Manager will coordinate closely with the Catering Department to clarify client requirements and relay essential information to Banquet Table Attendants, Bartenders, and Banquet Equipment Coordinators. A critical aspect of the job involves ensuring that banquet spaces are set up satisfactorily, with all necessary audiovisual equipment in place and operational. Daily inspections of each banquet space are required to maintain quality and readiness for events. The Banquet Manager will also be responsible for confirming event details with clients, completing monthly banquet bar inventory, and assisting with banquet bar setup requirements. Familiarity with the Clover P.O.S. System is essential, as is the ability to train associates and verify that service is performed according to established hotel standards. Maintaining an inventory of banquet plates, glassware, silverware, and linens is also part of the role, along with supervising and coordinating event activities with all banquet staff. This position requires collaboration across departments to ensure that events are executed smoothly. The Banquet Manager will serve and manage banquet events professionally, work with Catering Management to achieve goals, and direct staff during the setup, service, and breakdown of each event. Additionally, the manager will schedule appropriate staffing levels based on the hotel's needs and review payroll daily, while also being open to other duties as assigned.
