About The Position

The Banquet Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, execution, and financial oversight of all banquet and group food & beverage operations. This position ensures exceptional service standards, seamless event execution, financial accountability, and a culture of professionalism and teamwork. The Banquet Manager partners closely with Culinary, Catering & Conference Services, and other operational departments to deliver a consistently elevated guest experience while maximizing revenue, controlling labor, and maintaining brand standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a full-service hotel, resort, country club, or high-volume event venue.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on banquet or restaurant service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Micros or similar POS systems required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events/venues simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Financial awareness including labor management and cost control.
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of working in a highly active role involving constant movement across as 40-acre property.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to move and arrange heavy furniture and equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing large teams preferred.
  • Prior experience in a luxury resort or destination property preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily banquet operations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, and special events.
  • Ensure precise execution of BEOs through detailed review and communication with culinary and event teams.
  • Circulate during events to monitor service flow, guest satisfaction, and timing of courses.
  • Ensure banquet rooms are set according to specifications and presentation standards.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve service recovery situations in real time.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all banquet spaces and service areas.
  • Supervise banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and housepersons.
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management of banquet staff.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training.
  • Manage labor productivity in alignment with budget and forecast.
  • Assist in payroll review and approval.
  • Monitor supply usage and control banquet operating expenses.
