Job Description Summary The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet rooms and meeting spaces to ensure all events are executed efficiently and according to the event order. This position plays a key role in delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring event spaces are clean, organized, and properly arranged before, during, and after events. Job Description Key Responsibilities Set up banquet rooms and meeting spaces according to banquet event orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, linens, and other equipment. Break down event spaces promptly after events and reset rooms for upcoming functions. Assist with moving and arranging furniture, staging, and equipment for events and meetings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, storage rooms, hallways, and service areas. Ensure banquet spaces are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment. Assist banquet servers and captains with event service needs when necessary. Respond quickly to last-minute room setup changes or guest requests. Ensure all safety procedures are followed when lifting and moving equipment. Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns to management. Provide excellent service to guests by responding courteously and professionally when assistance is requested. Work collaboratively with banquet, kitchen, and hotel teams to ensure successful events. Qualifications Previous hospitality, banquet, or event setup experience preferred but not required. Ability to read and understand banquet event orders (BEOs) and room diagrams. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift. Ability to move tables, chairs, staging, and other banquet equipment. Work Environment This position operates primarily in banquet and meeting spaces within the hotel and may require working in a fast-paced environment with frequent setup and breakdown of events.
