About The Position

The Club at Wynstone is a private golf club located in North Barrington, Illinois, offering elevated dining, elegant event spaces, and exceptional service. We host a variety of events including banquets, golf outings, and member functions throughout the year. We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team and contribute to outstanding guest experiences. The Houseman will play a key role in preparing event and banquet spaces across the clubhouse. This position is responsible for setting rooms according to event requirements, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring all spaces are guest-ready before, during, and after events. This is not a busser or food running position.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in event setup, housekeeping, or facilities support is helpful but not required(on-the-job training provided)
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Capable of standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooer, steamers, washing machine and dryer
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to a polished, professional environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Arrange and dismantle banquet and event setups following event layouts and instructions (tables, chairs, linens, dance floor, audio/visual equipment, etc.)
  • Ensure all banquet rooms, lobbies, and storage areas remain clean and orderly, using carpet cleaning machines when necessary
  • Work closely with the Banquet Captain and Clubhouse Manager to meet setup timelines
  • Provide prompt, courteous assistance to members and guests as needed
  • Complete light cleaning or basic maintenance tasks when required
  • Review the BEO and day work assignments with supervisor.
  • Correctly and efficiently set up and break down all department functions. Clean and wipe down tables and chairs if necessary. If something needs to be deep cleaned or repaired, please notify direct supervisor.
  • Return all equipment not in use to proper storage area in clean condition before the end of each shift.
  • Assist guests whenever possible, referring all requests which are beyond scope of responsibility immediately to supervisor.
  • Be familiar with the various types of workable setups for each function room.
  • Assist banquet staff as needed.
  • Notify supervisor of any damaged equipment for repair.
  • Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends.
  • Get along well with others and be a team player.
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed.
