About The Position

Cherokee Town & Country Club in Sandy Springs is seeking to hire a Part-Time Banquet Houseman to assist in set up and tear down of banquet spaces and buffets. Familiarity with all areas of the Club and with event types is necessary to adequately prepare for each banquet event. A Banquet Houseman must be welcoming, knowledgeable, and hospitable while providing the highest quality service possible. Our Houseman will earn a competitive wage of $15.00/Hour - $17.00/Hour. Banquet staff prepare for events by setting up and taking down tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment. They set up banquet rooms for weddings, meetings, parties, and other occasions, ensuring that each space is arranged according to guest expectations and the Cherokee Standard. Responsibilities also include serving or assisting with food service, cleaning and organizing banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas, as well as inventorying and caring for banquet supplies. Staff refresh rooms and maintain cleanliness between events, perform general cleaning of event spaces and equipment, and carry out other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager and staff. We are open Tuesday - Sunday for events. This position will have a very flexible schedule, sometimes requiring the team members to start their shift in the early morning or evening. Shifts may range from 6:00am - 12:00pm or 7:00pm - 12:00am. Shift times will typically be pre- and post-event timeline. Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 4- Ibs. without injury.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to maintain focus on the tasks at hand while staying on your feet and moving about.
  • must be able to bend, climb stars, and carry items weighing up to 40 Ibs.
  • Previous Houseman experience (specifically at a private club or similar environment).
  • Basic understanding of event setup and strong verbal communication skills.

  • ServSafe certification is preferred.
