Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar cold food or garde manger role, preferably in a banquet or catering environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visual presentation and garnishing
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble cold food items for banquets and events, including salads, dressings, hors d’oeuvres, cold appetizers, charcuterie, canapés, and plated desserts as assigned
  • Execute banquet menus according to standardized recipes, event orders, and presentation guidelines
  • Assist with large-scale food production, plating, and garnishing to ensure timely service
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cold food preparation area in compliance with food safety standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure consistency and quality across all cold food offerings
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to ensure smooth operations
