About The Position

Located at Newport on the Levee, Velocity Esports is a cutting-edge esports and entertainment platform with a focus on bringing you next level entertainment experiences. We offer premier esports lounges, arcade games, bowling, billiards & darts, live tournaments and other in person entertainment features. Whether competing in a tournament or enjoying elevated casual dining, craft beverages and arcade games in person at one of our venues, our commitment is to deliver "Next Level Gaming, Next Level Fun" to our guests. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly within a restaurant, catering, or dietary department setting. As a Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. Requirements

Minimum one (1) year banquet or kitchen supervisor experience required
Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
A passion for cooking and providing high-quality meals that meet dietary needs.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.
Must be able to provide authorization to work in the US - we use E-verify.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist in menu planning and the development of new recipes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Provide support to dietary aides as necessary during meal preparation.
