Summary The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality food production for banquet and special events in accordance with established recipes, presentation standards, and food safety guidelines. This role ensures timely preparation and coordination to support seamless event service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training preferred.
  • 1–3 years of cooking experience required; banquet or high-volume production experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and food presentation standards.
  • Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to heat, sharp tools, and commercial kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food items according to banquet event orders (BEOs), standardized recipes, and production sheets.
  • Execute large-volume food production while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Ensure proper food portioning, plating, and presentation standards are met.
  • Coordinate with Banquet Chef, Sous Chef, and culinary team to ensure accurate timing of courses.
  • Assist with buffet setup and replenishment as needed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Properly label, store, and rotate food products in accordance with FIFO standards.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and communicate shortages to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with breakdown and cleaning following events.
  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
