Requirements

  • Proven experience as a cook, preferably in banquet or large-scale food service environments.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, standard recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in a similar cold food or garde manger role, preferably in a banquet or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visual presentation and garnishing.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary certification or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food items for banquets, restaurant/dining outlets, cafes, room service, employee cafeterias, and other catering events based on standardized recipes.
  • Ensure that all dishes are appealing, appetizing, and served in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in the kitchen and work areas.
  • Minimize waste and optimize cost-efficiency while maximizing production output.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring all food presentation standards are met.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operation during service periods.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
