The position involves delivering internal and external guest service to Horseshoe Standards, preparing a variety of foods according to customers' orders and/or chefs' instructions, and following approved procedures. The role requires reading food orders from computer printouts and preparing food items according to established menu plans. The individual will observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. Responsibilities also include washing, peeling, and cutting various foods to prepare for cooking or serving, receiving and storing food supplies, equipment, and utensils, and observing Health Department regulations regarding food handling and cleanliness. The position requires assisting cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks, portioning, arranging, and garnishing food, and serving food to waiters or patrons. The individual must maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe, and effective manner, and complete assigned tasks as written on the prep sheet.
