About The Position

The Banquet Chef leads the planning, preparation, and execution of all banquet and catered events. This role oversees staff performance, ensures high culinary standards, and collaborates closely with the Executive Chef and Event Management teams to deliver creative, consistent, and memorable experiences for every guest.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Banquet Chef or Sous Chef in an upscale hotel or high-volume banquet operation.
  • Formal culinary training or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of current culinary trends, presentation techniques, and event service standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the banquet kitchen, including food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
  • Develop and execute seasonal banquet menus in collaboration with the culinary leadership team.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety in compliance with hotel and health department regulations.
  • Supervise and train banquet kitchen staff, fostering an environment of teamwork, professional growth, and accountability.
  • Manage food and labor costs to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Catering Sales and Banquet teams to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to ensure efficient operations.
