About The Position

The Banquet Houseperson is a vital part of our Banquets & Events team, responsible for setting, maintaining, and refreshing event spaces for weddings, tournaments, social gatherings, and private functions. This position ensures every detail of the setup reflects the high standards of Cordillera Ranch and creates the foundation for exceptional Member and Guest experiences. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills. The Banquet Houseperson works closely with the Banquet Captains, Servers, and Culinary staff to ensure flawless execution of events.

Requirements

  • 6–12 months banquet, hospitality, or event setup experience preferred.
  • Private club, luxury hotel, or upscale catering background strongly desired.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Minimum availability of 2 days per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, courteous, and professional service during event setup and support.
  • Anticipate and respond to Member needs quickly, assisting with adjustments and special requests.
  • Maintain positive, professional interactions with Members, Guests, and colleagues.
  • Set banquet rooms according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs): arrange tables, chairs, staging, linens, and décor.
  • Refresh spaces during events and promptly break down rooms after completion.
  • Maintain inventory and par stock of banquet supplies: linens, chairs, tables, skirting, staging.
  • Keep event spaces, service corridors, and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist Servers and Captains with service tasks such as replenishing water, moving equipment, or running supplies.
  • Support audio-visual and lighting setups as directed.
  • Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
  • Follow all Club policies on safety, grooming, and sanitation.
  • Adapt to last-minute changes and varied event needs with professionalism.
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
