About The Position

The Banquet Captain ensures that the designated banquet operations proceed efficiently while prioritizing the comfort and safety of our guests. The individual exhibits empathetic leadership abilities and effectively manages multiple flows of information. A professional banquet captain maintains composure under high-pressure circumstances and showcases exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Completion of Orientation and safety training
  • Additional safety trainings as assigned
  • Black nonslip shoes.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.
  • Two years specialized experience working in the food services industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of computers in a Windows environment is required.
  • Must have previous experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Candidate must have previous customer service experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission.
  • RBS certification as trained at Rolling Hills Casino.
  • Food handler’s permit from a relevant government agency.
  • Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
  • Valid state issued Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests upon their arrival and assisting them with their seating arrangements.
  • Assisting managers and organizers with planning the layout and logistics of events.
  • Setting up and managing staff shifts and timetables.
  • Developing and providing staff with the necessary training, including customer service, and serving etiquette.
  • Managing the setup and deconstructing of events.
  • Running the floor and coordinating the food and drink service by liaising with the kitchen and service staff.
  • Monitoring the inventory of supplies, equipment, and furniture.
  • Tending to guests' requests, questions, and complaints.
  • Ensuring that the venue and facilities remain neat and clean.
  • Ensuring that all applicable safety regulations are communicated and adhered to.
  • Providing constant, attentive, and friendly service to guests.
  • Maintaining a hospitable and team atmosphere with fellow staff.
  • Overseeing the sale of alcoholic beverages and food to guests, following RBS guidelines.
  • Addressing any concerns, problems, or positive remarks with the Manager or Supervisor.
  • Attending and passing a written test from the RBS program.
  • Maintaining daily record keeping of tips
  • Following established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensuing work procedures, and work schedules are adhered to and expedites workflow.
  • Issuing written and oral instructions.
  • Assigning duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Performing or assisting cast members/staff in performing duties and teaches customer service skills.
  • Showing competent use of POS System
  • Preparing inventories as requested.
  • Follow established company and departmental standards as outlined in the BEO
  • Other Duties as assigned
