About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Captain to lead our banquet service team and ensure exceptional guest experiences at our events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service management, with expertise in supervising staff and managing banquet operations. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to maintain high standards of food safety and service quality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food service industry, preferably in banquet or fine dining settings.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and kitchen management.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience using POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS).
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members through training & development initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory control and budgeting for events.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in hospitality management or restaurant management is preferred.
  • Experience in casual dining, quick service & fast food restaurants, or catering services is a plus.
  • Background in barista or coffee service is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of banquet service, ensuring smooth operations from setup to breakdown.
  • Train and manage banquet staff, providing guidance on service standards and food handling procedures.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and presentation.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and manage POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
  • Maintain inventory control, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and available for events.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies regarding food production and handling.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise during events.
  • Assist in budgeting for events, ensuring cost-effective management of resources while maintaining quality service.
  • Collaborate with event planners to execute catering needs and special requests for guests.
