About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Full-Time Banquet Captain to lead and execute exceptional banquet and special event service. The Banquet Captain plays a critical leadership role on the event floor, ensuring seamless service execution, team coordination, and an outstanding guest experience from setup through breakdown. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment, leads by example, and is passionate about delivering world-class service.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of banquet or food & beverage experience, with prior leadership or captain experience preferred
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hospitality environment strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service styles, including plated, buffet, and synchronized service
  • Solid understanding of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a service team
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, event-focused environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [X] lbs
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support banquet servers during events to ensure service standards are met
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for assigned events, working closely with Banquet Managers and Event Services
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review event details, service timing, menu items, and special requests
  • Oversee banquet room setup and breakdown according to event orders and service standards
  • Ensure proper table settings, décor placement, and room readiness prior to guest arrival
  • Coordinate food and beverage service, including synchronized service when required
  • Perform final quality checks on food and beverage items before service
  • Monitor service flow, guest satisfaction, and timing throughout the event
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating as needed
  • Assist with food and beverage service as necessary during events
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces and service areas
  • Communicate effectively with culinary, stewarding, and event staff
  • Maintain awareness of safety concerns and report hazards or incidents immediately
  • Complete post-event responsibilities, including staff guidance and room reset
