About The Position

This is a full-time hybrid role for a versatile hospitality professional, alternating between Banquet Captain and Grill Server responsibilities. As a Banquet Captain, the individual will lead during weddings, tournaments, and special events, guiding staff, ensuring smooth service, and creating memorable experiences. As a Grill Server, the individual will provide friendly, attentive service to day-to-day dining guests.

Requirements

  • Experience in banquets and staff supervision is required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Food and Beverage banquets with a facility providing catering.
  • Good computer skills to include Word, Excel, and POS.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Non slip shoes required.
  • Supervisor experience.
  • Must have driver’s license with a good MVR.
  • Actively follows all safety rules and guidelines in accordance with company, OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other state and federal law requirements.
  • Supervises all safety precautions among F&B employees.
  • Responsible for proper care of any employee accident and reports immediately to management.
  • Must have or obtain required Food Handlers and SCDOR alcohol certifications within seven days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Works with catering manager for set up and breakdown of banquet events.
  • Supervises banquet employees during all events.
  • Ensure guests are taken care of in a timely fashion.
  • Accountable for all bar inventory and cash handling.
  • Assists with the scheduling and placement of banquet employees for all events.
  • Assures all food service items are within company, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Responsible for end of event property security.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels.
  • Enforces rules and policies under FGI’s guidelines.
  • Always conducts behavior towards employees and guests in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for accounting for all bar hosted inventory.
  • Maintain personal and professional development.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled to work.
  • Other duties as assigned (Banquet Captain).
  • Always greet guests and members in a pleasant manner.
  • Prepare an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, serving alcohol to guests only 21 years of age and over.
  • Assist and serve in the restaurant/grill as needed.
  • Prepare and serve various snacks, ready to eat sandwiches, hot dogs, and kitchen or grill prepared foods, etc.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and stay late when necessary.
  • Alert supervisor immediately of any member or guest complaints.
  • Project yourself in a positive and professional manner always.
  • Keep work area properly stocked.
  • Follow all State and company liquor policies.
  • Complete requisition forms for all supplies.
  • Handle and count cash accurately, record all credit card transactions.
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and general manager.
  • Organize and account for product and supplies.
  • Rotates and re-stocks all dry, frozen, and chill products to ensure quality.
  • Report any quality or waste issues to supervisor.
  • Complete all required opening and closing procedures per checklist.
  • Secure all keys in proper designated location at the end of the shift.
  • Reports any equipment issues to supervisor or pro shop.
  • Keep snack area/restaurant clean throughout the day.
