Banquet Bartender

About the position

The Bartender will serve and make drinks at the bar for the servers to provide to members and guests. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of standard drinks, liquors, and wines specific to the restaurant bar, as well as adherence to established procedures and policies related to liquor liability laws. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking the bar, and ensuring consistency in drink presentation and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Compose and be knowledgeable of standard drinks and liquors or wines specific to restaurant bar.
• Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes.
• Familiarity with the wine list and the stemware and appropriate garnishes used.
• Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender's manual.
• Keep bar stocked and clean. Follow side work sheet.
• Plan, monitor and maintain par levels for bar inventory.
• Prepare daily orders for bar items to maintain pars.
• Be knowledgeable of the menu for guests ordering at the bar.
• Ensure consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
• Learn suggestive up-selling techniques and use them during services.
• Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws.
• Responsible for cash handling and bank procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of all workplace areas that apply to the bar.
• Maintain a perfectly crisp and clean uniform.
• Deliver 'I Am Proud' service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
• Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates.

Requirements

• Two to three years bartending experience.
• Extensive liquor, beer, wine and mixology knowledge.
• One-year restaurant experience, preferably with fine dining or high-end resort experience.
• Pleasant and helpful personality.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• State of Colorado (or equivalent) Safe-Serve Certification.
• TIPS Bar Certificate.
