About The Position

To set up banquet bars and serve beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to Hilton’s high brand standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate well with people.
  • Must be able to read banquet event orders and determine required beverage service.
  • Must have full knowledge of different varieties of beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate mixology and equipment maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate instructions to staff and other department employees.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Learns, remembers, and recites the layout of the hotel and be able to give accurate directions to guests.
  • Ability to transport up to 40 lbs. on a service tray through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to perform all duties within extreme temperature ranges including prolonged outdoor exposure.
  • Ability to understand and operate standard equipment, including Island Oasis machines, blenders, soda guns, etc.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior banquet and/or hospitality beverage service experience is preferred.
  • High school education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up of banquet bars, hospitality suites, and coolers for fishing, golf, and beach activities, ensuring all are done in accordance with standards set forth by the Hilton brand and Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa Banquet Department.
  • Serves all alcoholic, frozen, and non-alcoholic beverages required for a function, as determined by meeting planners and specified on banquet event orders.
  • Attends roll call meetings before events to obtain function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and all required safety and alcohol awareness training seminars.
  • Greets guests and responds to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Cleans banquet bars and bar prep areas once a banquet is complete so the areas will be ready for the next function.
  • Cleans all service areas to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Completes extra assignments designated by Director of Banquets, Banquet Manager, or Beverage Captain.
  • Performs all assigned side work to include replenishing supplies and restocking banquet beverage areas, as needed.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard Hotel cleaning products, as assigned, to adhere to health standards.
  • Assists periodically in support of Stewarding and all other Banquet staff.
  • Abides by all Federal, State and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
