About The Position

The Bankruptcy Specialist monitors in the bankruptcy process to minimize potential losses, preserve the lienholder's interest and ensure compliance with law.

Responsibilities

• Research accounts referred to the Legal Servicing Department for Bankruptcy Petition filing
• Review and interpret Bankruptcy documents such as Petition Case filings, Objections and Motion to Value Collaterals
• Respond to phone calls, written correspondence from all parties involved in the bankruptcy process
• Review and file bankruptcy proofs of claims, motions for relief and objections to claims
• Coordinate and prepare referral packages for local counsel for Bankruptcy handling
• Review, monitor and document bankruptcy legal actions and follow up with counsel accordingly
• Verify critical dates and review electronic court docket for updated case status
• Work with Bankruptcy trustees, respond to debtor attorneys and coordinate responses to objections to claims
• Assist the in-house Legal Specialist in obtaining information needed to pursue settlement options allowed during the bankruptcy
• Review and work unsecured bankruptcy accounts
• May provide direction based on research
