About The Position

TKD seeks a mid-level associate to join our Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Group. The ideal candidate has 3-12 years of experience (3-7 years preferred) in bankruptcy law as well as commercial litigation, and is highly motivated and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic. Excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills are required. Candidates must be highly responsive, as well as be committed to providing exceptional client service and top-quality work product.

Requirements

Excellent technology skills are expected.
Must be admitted to New York State and Federal Courts.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

A sense of humor is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with a wide variety of chapter 11 and 7 cases, along with commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
Work on all aspects of middle market chapter 11 cases from filing to plan confirmation including, but not limited to, drafting cash collateral motions, disclosure statements and plans of reorganization and other customary pleadings in connection with a Chapter 11 case.
Draft and review pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, briefs, and various other documents involving bankruptcy practice and commercial litigation.
Attend court hearings and conferences, depositions, and client meetings.
Research effectively and efficiently, must have knowledge of Westlaw.
