About The Position

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a full time Banking Services Lead to join their team at the Berkley North Branch. This role independently and accurately performs a full range of teller, new account, and maintenance transactions according to established procedures, delivering excellent customer service. The Banking Services Lead works closely with the sales team to achieve performance goals and meet customer financial needs through ethical referrals. They support the Retail Banking Services Officer and execute operational tasks and reporting for the branch. The position acts as a subject matter expert on operational policies and procedures in the absence of the Retail Branch Services Manager or Retail Banking Services Officer, maintaining knowledge of compliance and regulatory items. The Lead uses sound judgment, balancing service and risk when assisting with transactional approvals, and provides dual control support while adhering to bank policies and procedures. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
3 years minimum of banking operations experience required.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
Ability to make decisions and review and approve other employee decisions.
Excellent time management skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
Extensive knowledge of Bank deposit products and services.
Extensive knowledge of alternative Bank services and products and vendor provided products.
Knowledge of applicable Federal and State banking regulations.
Knowledge of Retail office operations, including complex transactions, Bank policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs routine teller transactions and works directly with customers.
Accepts, verifies, and processes basic to more complex customer transactions according to established procedures and security guidelines.
Adheres to all cash handling policies and procedures balancing cash at the end of each shift.
Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash supply for transactions performed.
Assists the Retail Operations Manager in the branch to ensure operational soundness.
Assists with monitoring overall branch cash levels.
The completion and review of Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual operational tasks.
May lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and Universal Bankers in the office.
May assist with setting and implementing operations priorities and processes for the office.
Leads branch in providing extraordinary service to customers.
Assists customers with account maintenance, online banking, mobile banking, and other complex account issues.
Works to resolve concerns presented by customers.
Reviews customer transactions for red flags and fraudulent items.
Maintains awareness of current financial scams used against banking customers.
Prevents customers from becoming victims of fraud and escalates concerns to management for resolution.
Represents the Bank and its products and services with pride and enthusiasm.
Responsive to customer needs.
Identifies and presents new or additional products and services.
Maintains superior levels of customer service.
Maintains compliance with established internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations to protect the interest of the Bank and customers.
Gathers data and processes various regulatory and operational reports to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and regulatory compliance programs reviews the work of others for compliance.
