Responsible for using discretion and judgment in the selection and application of one or more standard procedures involved in testing of in-process samples and finished products submitted to the ballistics laboratory I Runs routine and non-routine analyses and computes data, and assists in planning analysis and tests I Demonstrates a keen sense of safety awareness Impact of the Role General Profile Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks Develops understanding in an analytical or scientific method or operational process Works with close supervision Performs manual tasks according to established procedures Essential Functions Assists with the ballistic testing of a specific product line in support of the Production, Research & Development and the Quality Assurance Departments. Reads specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identifies/prepares test equipment. Supports monitoring of tests per specifications, interacts with customers if needed, troubleshoots, and documents all pertinent data. Assists and performs troubleshooting, interpretation, and analysis of test results. After test completion, verifies, reviews, and documents all pertinent data. Maintains lab by physically removing test items, cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, and organizing supplies. Supports team members in the preparation and performance of tests and the maintenance and analysis of appropriate data, problems, and/or results.

Requirements

  • Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset
  • No prior experience needed

  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Nice To Haves

  • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
  • Additional certifications: BATFE Explosives License preferred
