The Baler Operator is responsible for operating a baling machine to process salvaged textile and cardboard items. This role involves ensuring production goals are met while maintaining safety and cleanliness in the work environment.
Operate baling machine according to manufacturer guidelines.
Bale salvaged textile items to meet production goals.
Secure each bale with wire ties.
Weigh each bale, record its weight, and mark it accordingly.
Use a forklift to store bales in designated areas.
Notify supervisor for wire tie orders or machine service/repair needs.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations and warehouse areas.
Move materials between workstations as needed.
Adhere to safety procedures and wear required safety equipment.
Support the agency's safety program and contribute to overall safety.
Ability to operate a baling machine safely.
Ability to read operating and safety instructions.
Ability to manipulate bales weighing up to 650 to 750 pounds.
Certification or ability to be certified on a forklift.
Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
