About The Position
Job Purpose: Paper scrap collection and preparation for recycling
Responsibilities
- Sort and load paper scrap into baling machine from rolling cages
- Operate automatic and manual baling machines using established guidelines
- Operate industrial forklift transporting scrap paper cages and bales
- Read scale to verify weight of bales
- Identify and record specific material grade and weight of each bale
- Load baled products, recyclable corrugated, etc. onto proper trailers for proper shipping
- Load trucks correctly maximizing weight limitations
- Notify Accounting Assistant promptly when salvage truck warrants pick-up
- Notify a supervisor promptly when baling machines need maintenance/repairs
- Empty trash
- Maintain proper housekeeping of Baler Room and baling machines as well as designated recycling storage areas within the plant
- Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time
- Execute the responsibilities of this position following company safety policies and company procedures
