About The Position

The position involves performing all functions related to preparation, counter service, and stocking of products, specifically focusing on baking and decorating cakes and pies. Team Members are expected to ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and fellow Team Members. All tasks must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures, and Team Members should be prepared to perform duties inherent in other job descriptions. Team Leaders are required to engage with customers and assist wherever needed, while supporting Whole Foods Market's core values and goals, promoting various programs and initiatives, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of artisan breads and pastries, including cake decorating.

Responsibilities

  • Produces quality breads and pastries.
  • Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars.
  • Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products.
  • Stocks dry products.
  • Develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity.
  • Trains production personnel to the highest standards in the industry.
  • Performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays.
  • Maintains all production modules in the Datapax system.
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and models suggestive selling techniques.
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follows and complies with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
