About The Position

The Bakery Processing Operator, under general supervision, is responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of processing/baking machinery. This role involves operating the processing/baking equipment to produce product within guidelines established by Quality Assurance and to the highest possible standard of quality. The operator will properly mix ingredients, monitor correct temperature/moisture, and make adjustments accordingly. They will also communicate and escalate quality issues to appropriate team members, read and understand batch sheets, and monitor and log current temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and raw material weights. The position requires following sanitation procedures, tracking and disposing of waste, and maintaining proper raw material levels. The operator must adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines and may be required to perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • CPT (Certified Production Technician) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the processing/baking equipment to produce product within guidelines established by Quality Assurance.
  • Properly mixes ingredients and monitors correct temperature/moisture, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Operates and shuts down equipment in the processing/bakery area according to established procedures.
  • Communicates and escalates quality issues to appropriate team members.
  • Reads and understands batch sheets, following recipes and accurately weighing raw materials.
  • Monitors and logs current temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and raw material weights, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitors for possible foreign matter in the product.
  • Follows sanitation procedures for clean ups and change overs, including chemical handling.
  • Tracks and disposes of waste accordingly.
  • Moves raw ingredients using material handling equipment, including forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Maintains proper raw material levels and keeps appropriate personnel updated on raw material needs.
  • Monitors correct seasoning coverage amount and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Practices and adheres to safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping/5S and personal protection.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized, following instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights of objects.
  • Identifies and reports defective equipment and job-related injuries to supervision.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.
