About The Position

The Bakery Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of the bakery department, ensuring effective leadership, product quality, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining positive customer relations while adhering to company policies and budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills for customer service.
• Dexterity in hands for wrapping and packaging products.
• Ability to read and write for tagging and pricing products.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions of the bakery department.
• Follow merchandising plans for the department.
• Order to maintain inventory control and ensure product freshness and quality.
• Maintain asset control of commercial bread and ensure product quality.
• Enforce policies regarding receiving, dating, and restocking to ensure product rotation.
• Participate in shrink control efforts.
• Schedule and supervise department employees effectively.
• Ensure compliance with company policies related to safety and sanitation.
• Maintain and submit required records and reports.
• Monitor product quality and freshness.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding weights and measures and health department standards.
• Oversee the baking and general production of the department.
• Train new bakery department employees.
• Greet customers and provide prompt and courteous service.
• Promote and maintain positive employee relations.
• Maintain budgeted percentages related to sales distribution, labor control, and shrink control.
• Decorate cakes as needed.
