For the Bakery Manager, this means overseeing bakery operations, managing the team, ensuring the quality and freshness of baked goods, streamlining workflows, and delivering exceptional customer experiences to achieve business goals.

Requirements

  • Decision making skills on behalf of the Bakery Department
  • Full knowledge on all operations of the Bakery along with 5 years of Bakery experience & 3-5 years of managerial experience
  • Awareness and driving support office initiatives
  • Windows programs and communication tools
  • Work collaboratively, communicate, and lead a team of co-workers alongside store management
  • Ability to demonstrate, encourage, and set the example of Adams’ culture and values
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality
  • Experience gained through growth and leadership within Adams may also be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate proven ability to lead teams, support daily kitchen operations, and uphold Adams’ standards for quality and service.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee department operations
  • Be able to concentrate on tasks in order to avoid injury
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
  • Communicate with others to exchange information
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks including in tight and confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service by creating a friendly environment, greeting customers, and offering product knowledge and assistance.
  • Achieve profit, payroll, and expense goals while controlling shrink, waste, and production levels.
  • Maintain proper stock levels, ensure fresh product rotation, and present merchandise with clear signage.
  • Manage inventory and purchasing to meet customer needs and reduce waste.
  • Train, supervise, and support department staff, including developing an assistant to back you up.
  • Schedule staff based on availability and ensure payroll is accurate to support operations and budget goals.
  • Keep all areas clean and organized, including sales floor, prep areas, and storage.
  • Monitor product quality and invoice accuracy; manage pricing and inter-store transfers.
  • Conduct interviews, handle disciplinary discussions, and help employees grow by setting clear goals.
  • Educate staff on proper product handling, rotation, and merchandising techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with staff and management, providing praise and addressing concerns.
  • Schedule staff, post weekly schedules, and ensure coverage during busy periods.
  • Handle unexpected issues like call-outs, conflicts, and inventory problems quickly and effectively.
  • Address customer complaints to ensure satisfaction and protect the store’s reputation.
  • Review department reports to track performance and support decision-making.
  • Check in with each team member during overlapping shifts to ensure clear communication.
  • Keep accurate and organized records to support smooth operations and compliance.
