About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders, and providing food preparation suggestions. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques (phone, intercom, one-on-one). Bakery Operations Oversee and assist with all department duties, including preparation and display of products. Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques. Maintain bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and inventory levels. Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of bakery area and equipment; maintain a safe work environment. Ensure temperatures are maintained during preparation, display, and storage. Build displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Follow and maintain department standards for product quality and freshness. Staff Management Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Compliance & Safety Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Inventory & Financial Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products. Maintain and organize cooler and freezer. Control shrink and costs. Equipment & Technology Operate related equipment: pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and other bakery tools. Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order products. Receiving & Processing Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate products. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Other Responsibilities Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Other necessary and required duties.
