This role involves actively participating in, training, and mentoring crew members to enthusiastically demonstrate, educate, and sell in-store bakery products. The manager oversees the training process for new hires, including onboarding and department-specific training, and handles documentation for Human Resources. Daily team huddles are conducted to communicate sales goals and reinforce guest service expectations. Operational responsibilities include ordering ingredients and supplies, receiving and organizing inventory, and preparing scratch bakery products through various baking processes. The manager may also be involved in production cake decorating. Key management duties include writing daily plans and weekly schedules, executing bakery programs and corporate promotions in coordination with the Bakery Sales Manager, and controlling inventory to maintain consistent margins and product freshness. The role also covers POS maintenance, accurate record-keeping for damaged merchandise, and ensuring compliance with food and workplace safety regulations. The manager is expected to acquire broad product knowledge, stay updated on promotions, and foster a collaborative team environment. The position requires working in a store that operates seven days a week, potentially involving weekend, holiday, and various shift work.
