About The Position

The Wonderfully Made Bakery is a unique program of Wonderfully Made, a day program cultivating community and purpose for adults with intellectual disabilities. Located on the campus of Peachtree Church, the bakery is a joyful space where program participants, known as Wonder Makers, contribute by baking, packaging, and sharing our cookies with the wider community. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bakery Manager to lead and grow this exciting venture. This role combines operational management, volunteer coordination, and the opportunity to mentor and support Wonder Makers, creating a meaningful and rewarding experience for everyone involved. The Bakery Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Wonderfully Made Bakery, ensuring smooth and efficient cookie production while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and care. This role requires someone with experience in a bakery or food establishment, as well as a passion for mentoring and engaging with people. The Bakery Manager will play a critical role in growing the Wonderfully Made Bakery brand.

Requirements

  • Experience in a bakery, food establishment, or similar operation.
  • Strong organizational and operational management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in food production.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to mentor and support individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Enthusiastic about involving and training volunteers to contribute effectively.
  • Creative mindset for exploring new opportunities, such as marketing ideas.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively in a part-time position.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including TOAST as a plus.
  • ServSafe Manager certification required for employment but will help acquire for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Bakery Operations: Manage all aspects of bakery operations: baking cookies, creating large batch dough, and fulfilling orders. Including maintaining supplies, inventory and ingredients to ensure consistent production. As well as upholding all health and safety standards, ensuring the bakery meets food safety and cleanliness regulations.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Train and involve volunteers in baking and packaging cookies, ensuring they feel confident and supported in their roles.
  • Supporting Wonder Makers: Encourage and mentor Wonder Makers as they contribute to the bakery, whether actively baking or packaging cookies. Create a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters personal growth and confidence.
  • Order Management: Oversee the taking and fulfillment of orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers, creating invoices, and tracking bakery sales.
  • Toast (Retail POS): Responsible for monitoring for incoming orders, update and maintain menu items, including pricing, descriptions, and availability. Add or remove seasonal items, specials, and sold-out products as needed
  • Financial Management: Handle all bakery purchasing of ingredients and supplies, accurately account for purchases in Ministry software.
  • Menu Expansion & Brand Development: Explore opportunities to expand cookie flavors, drive creativity and growth for the bakery. Be part of establishing the Wonderfully Made Bakery brand, building a strong reputation for quality and community impact.
  • Collaborating with Team: including team meetings and staff chapel, as necessary to accomplish the mission of Wonderfully Made.
