Title: Bakery Lead Merchandiser Reports To: Bakery Manager Are you passionate about bakery and pastry delights, with a knack for food service and customer service? We’re looking for a dedicated Bakery Lead Merchandiser to join our team! In this role, you'll ensure our Bakery department is always fully stocked with fresh products and eye-catching displays, creating a delightful shopping experience for our customers (though, we refer to them as guests!). Our bakery plays a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for guests' events and everyday moments alike, ranging from special occasions to everyday indulgences.

Requirements

• Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide outstanding customer service and work effectively with guests and team members.
• Communication Skills : Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Food Service Expertise: Knowledge of retail food service, bakery and pastry operations, with a strong understanding of food service standards and practices.
• Safety and Efficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and safety policies to handle equipment and recognize and react potential hazards effectively.
• Standing for extended periods of time (70% of the time)
• Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis (10% of the time)
• Frequently near moving machinery (60% of the time)
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of the time)
• Prolonged exposure to computer monitors (40% of the time)

Responsibilities

• Deliver Helpful Service: P roviding excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need, will make a positive impact every day.
• Guide and Support: Reinforce our Festival culture, food service standards, and customer service expectations. Provide guidance and support to our Bakery team, ensuring they deliver exceptional service.
• Maintain and Build Eye-Catching Displays: Oversee the merchandising of the Bakery department to ensure all products are attractively displayed and meet our high standards. Build, move, and refresh displays to keep them fresh, full, eye-catching and engaging.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with the Department Manager and Bakery associates to maintain top-notch standards and exceed guest expectations.
• Offer Assistance: Assist customers with finding items, taking special pastry and bakery orders, and providing excellent service. Answer phones with proper etiquette and help Bakery Clerks with packaging, labeling, and maintaining a clean and organized department.
• Deliver Quality and Food Safety: Ensure all quality and quantity standards are met, and maintain food safety logs.
• Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
• Support the Team: Other duties as assigned
