  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment for customers.
  • Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
  • Monitor established quality assurance standards.
  • Demonstrate the company's core values: respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes.
  • Recommend bakery items to customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates.
  • Keep bakery cases full and fresh based on standards.
  • Participate in the development of sales in the cake and pastry area.
  • Answer customer or associate questions regarding cake decorating orders.
  • Communicate with the Bakery Manager regarding needs for the cake area.
  • Track inventory related to cake or pastry, including product needs and supplies.
  • Ensure the cake kit book is updated and stocked.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Understand the store's layout to assist customers in locating products.
  • Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory and stocking conditions.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and safety risks.
