About The Position

As a Central Market Bakery Manager, you are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department, and get to know our Customers, and treat them to excellent service. Supervises a team of Partners.

Requirements

  • Leads team of Bakery Partners; large team management ideally.
  • Proven experience in Bakery Operations management
  • Experience managing teams of at least 10 bakers and experience training new bakers to achieve proficiency
  • Love of all things Bakery, a passion for food and a passion for selling
  • Proficiency on computer systems
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills including ability to develop and deliver recommendations
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
  • Proven ability to develop teams including delegating tasks
  • Basic financial acumen and knowledge of financial terms like Sales/GP% and their application to department goals
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage in excess of 70 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Scratch Production experience is preferred; bread scratch baking is huge plus!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department
  • Supervises a team of Partners
  • Responsible for interviews, performance reviews and Partner feedback, and training and developing Partners as well as writing department schedules
  • Provides superior customer service and develops and leads a team to provide customer service at the highest level in all areas
  • Responsible for selling products for promotional and special events throughout the store
  • Accountable for merchandising department to maximize sales, ensuring appropriate abundance and effective presentation through signage and art display and effective promotion of services and products
  • Ensures product delivered to customers is of optimum quality and presentation and in-stock conditions are maintained
  • Maintains multiple vendor relationships
  • Works with other department managers to effectively deliver results
  • Maintains a high degree of product knowledge
  • Ensures that all government and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration and sanitation are met
  • Works to achieve set department budget that contributes to the stores long range goals
  • Monitors and manages product assortment, shrink, labor, and wrap expenses to meet budget goals
  • Ensures appropriate planning to meet weekly and long-term budget goals
  • Conducts weekly forecasting and production planning for product assortment
  • Oversees product ordering and inventory controls
  • Generate new sales and maintain current client relationship
