Requirements

3+ years of leadership experience
Certified Bakery Expert or equivalent (e.g., Retail Bakery Association-Certified Master Baker preferred)
SORM or equivalent
Food Safety certification
Forklift / power jack training
Advanced interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills
Strong leadership skills

Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel), and H-E-B systems
Ability to adapt to stressful situations with change management
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks

Stand and lift 50 pounds occasionally
Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout shift
Possess hand / finger dexterity
Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
Work in a cooler environment on a regular basis, and in an extreme cold environment on an occasional basis
Work in extreme heat from ovens and fryers
Work extended hours and varying work schedules as dictated by the business

Responsibilities

Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters
Trains School of Retail Management (SORM) and School of Retail Leadership (SORL) trainees
Assists all Partners in the department with their duties; coaches / trains; and evaluates as needed
Holds Partners accountable for following SOPs
Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department budget and payroll
Prepares the production plan; ensures correct quantities are produced
Maintains correct product levels by conducting weekly reviews of production quantities
Monitors showcase production and stales tracking
Accountable for results of Bakery Scorecard
Executes merchandising programs and drives sales by producing appropriate variety and quantity of bakery products daily
Responsible for large product assortment and sales volume
Increases department contribution by effectively managing shrink and inventory levels
Maintains the highest levels of customer service through personal example, SOP compliance, and accountability
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and H-E-B policy and standards for product food safety and sanitation
Maintains safety / sanitation of equipment and department; maintains sanitation standards throughout the work area
