About The Position

As a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) at Food 4 Less, you will create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers.
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products for customers.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
