About The Position
As a Bakery/Deli Clerk at Ralphs, you will play a crucial role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department while monitoring all established quality assurance standards. Embracing the Customer 1st strategy is essential, as you will encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment, offering product samples to help customers discover new items, and informing customers of bakery and deli specials. You will ensure that customers receive fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage and recommend deli or bakery items to ensure they get the products they want and need. You will also be required to use all equipment in the bakery, such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens, according to company guidelines. Additionally, you will prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions, measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes, and adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise. Checking product quality to ensure freshness, maintaining awareness of inventory conditions, and adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines are also key responsibilities. You will create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. Your positive attitude and commitment to safety will help reinforce safety programs and ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.
