About The Position

The Bakery Clerk is responsible for reviewing daily orders, preparing and replenishing products in a prompt, efficient, and friendly manner. This role ensures a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members. The position requires a commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork within the bakery department.

Requirements

• Less than High school education or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Reviews the status and appearance of food for freshness.
• Reviews daily orders and takes customer orders at the bakery counter.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains a clean work area.
• Ensures adequate food supply and follows a production list.
• Anticipates product needs for the department.
• Prepares, finishes, and replenishes products as necessary.
• Checks in products, puts them away, and may review invoices.
• Runs department registers and handles payments.
• Removes trash in a timely manner.
• Maintains adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
