About The Position

As a Bakery Clerk at The Golden Hog, you will be a key part of our bakery and café team, focused on delivering a warm, welcoming experience for our customers. In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of the bakery department by heating and preparing simple bakery items using the oven, making fresh juices to order, and crafting basic coffee beverages. You will also maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bakery and café areas to ensure an inviting, safe, and efficient environment. No cooking or baking from scratch is required — we focus on presentation, freshness, and customer service.

Requirements

• Prior experience in retail, grocery, or food service preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfort working with ovens, juicers, and coffee equipment (training provided)
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Attention to cleanliness, quality, and detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with bakery and café orders
• Heat and prepare pre-baked goods in the oven as needed
• Package, label, and stock bakery products
• Make fresh juices and basic coffee beverages (no barista experience required)
• Maintain clean and attractive displays of bakery and café items
• Monitor product quality and remove items past their prime
• Ensure the bakery and juice/coffee areas are clean, sanitized, and stocked
• Follow all health, safety, and food handling guidelines
• Assist with restocking, inventory, and other duties as needed
