Join us and be part of something meaningful. The Bakery Clerk proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods by following each item’s product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment. They unpack bakery goods from the freezer and display proper amounts based on bakery production chart recommendations, including safe handling and storage instructions. The role maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department. Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate) and Fast, Friendly Full, Fresh, Clean Club Standards is required. The role also involves working as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, maintaining a grand opening look daily, ensuring all items are stocked and promotional plans executed, maintaining visible accurate signage, and keeping the club clean and organized. Finally, the Bakery Clerk needs to understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for their department and see the connection between consistent execution and its positive impact on the business.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods following product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment.
• Unpack bakery goods from the freezer and display proper amounts based on bakery production chart recommendations, including safe handling and storage instructions.
• Maintain all cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.
• Answer questions and recommend bakery items to members.
• Answer Member calls and take special orders.
• Use bakery production charts as a guide for production and display needs.
• Gather products to be prepared for the next business day.
• Package freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes, and other items as needed.
• Decorate special order or case product.
• Rotate and store bakery products following proper work methods on food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments.
• Ensure that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards.
• Check for out-of-date products daily and follow salvage and stale product policies and procedures.
• Generate labels and price tickets for bakery goods and perform price check functions when necessary, ensuring all items are accurately priced.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces in the bakery, including ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, display racks, and tables.
• Operate and handle bakery equipment using proper work methods in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
