About The Position

Bakery Clerks are responsible for labeling, stocking, and merchandising prepared baked goods and bread. This role involves ordering products to ensure optimal sales and minimize shrink, as well as participating in the clean-up, set-up, and closing tasks required for the store's upkeep. The position also includes providing prompt and courteous customer service, handling special orders and customer requests.

Requirements

• Reworks product displays to assess order quantities and rotates product
• Determines merchandising plan, product selection, and order quantities to optimize sales
• Labels product with expiration dates according to manufacturer and company guidelines
• Determines product quality for mark downs and culling to optimize quality and minimize shrink
• Stores and rotates stock
• Packages, wraps, weighs, and labels product for sale according to company and regulatory agency guidelines
• Follows safety and security procedures
• Provides prompt and courteous customer service, including special orders and customer requests
• Operate manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, scale, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife, and fax machine
• Occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, phone, printer

Nice To Haves

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Ordering Experience Preferred
