About The Position

The Bakery Team Member at BJ's Wholesale Club is responsible for proofing and baking unfinished bakery goods, ensuring adherence to product handling information and safety standards. This role involves maintaining cleanliness in the bakery department, providing excellent service to members, and collaborating with team members to achieve operational goals. The position emphasizes a commitment to quality, safety, and member satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods following product handling information.
• Unpacks bakery goods from the freezer and displays proper amounts based on production chart recommendations.
• Maintains cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.
• Answers questions and recommends bakery items to members.
• Takes special orders from members and answers their calls.
• Packages freshly baked goods including cookies, pastries, and breads.
• Decorates special order or case products as needed.
• Rotates and stores bakery products following food safety and handling policies.
• Receives, inspects, and stores bakery shipments.
• Generates labels and price tickets for bakery goods and performs price checks.
• Cleans and sanitizes bakery equipment and surfaces.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
