  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance and observe company dress regulations.
  • Assist in receiving and unloading merchandise; check and verify receiving to ensure accuracy.
  • Rotate bakery ingredients and merchandise according to store policy and product code dates.
  • Observe shift operating hours as scheduled or assigned by the Bakery team leader.
  • Control excessive use of utilities and water, and maintain general housekeeping standards.
  • Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance at least once per shift.
  • Prepare all dough and scratch baking mixtures according to established procedures and recipes.
  • Load and unload ovens, knowing the proper temperatures and duration for baking products.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control of ingredients and supplies.
  • Monitor product sales to optimize production and minimize unsold or stale bakery products.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in full bakery operations and procedures, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Health department training required.
  • Ability to calculate percentages and ratios for measuring ingredients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
  • Knowledge of safety and health considerations in baking tasks.
