About The Position

The Bakery Associate at Sendik's Food Market is responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the bakery counter and on the sales floor. Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age due to required operation of bakery equipment.
• Eagerness to interact with customers.
• Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and efficiently.
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities, under general supervision.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, push/pull for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in the Bakery Department while providing exceptional customer service.
• Answer questions regarding bakery products and ingredients.
• Assist customers in selecting bakery products and offer suggestions as needed.
• Fill and maintain the bakery case.
• Package, price, and label items for the sales floor.
• Stock and rotate bakery products on the sales floor.
• Take and fulfill bakery orders via phone and in person.
• Complete daily cleaning duties in the Bakery Department.
• Assist Bakers with pouring batter, panning bakery items, and preparing product for baking as needed.
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Bakery Department.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Assist with all other Bakery Department duties as needed.
