The Bakery Associate provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means providing outstanding customer service, keeping the counter, cases, and tables stocked, neat, clean and attractive, and being the final line for quality control in the department.

Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service
Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams
Take customer orders both in person and on the phone
Package fresh baked goods for sale
Be aware of sale items and pricing
Maintain full knowledge of Bakery product line and pricing
Rotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and sale tables, making sure each package is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces
Keep sale tables and showcases organized, visually pleasing, and clean
Be the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues, sell-by dates, and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put into the case
Assist Bakers/Decorators/Porter as needed
Set up cookies and muffins for baking
Finish cakes and donuts for display if assigned
Produce single-serve items such as parfaits and pudding cups if assigned
Write on cakes if assigned
Finish off donuts if assigned
Receive deliveries; check delivery ticket against what was ordered and product received
Make apple cider donuts
Clean dishes and equipment used and put them away once dry
Clean cases, including wiping shelves and keeping glass clean at all times
Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, counter, cases, coolers, preparation, and production areas
Give customer priority over the task at hand when assistance is needed

Must be 18 years of age or older
Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers
Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per department needs
Must be able to work scheduled shift
Follow all department safety policies and procedures
Be able to concentrate on tasks in order to avoid injury and waste of product
Be knowledgeable about Adams product and recommend ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences
