About The Position

High volume commercial bakery is seeking a Part-Time team-oriented candidate for a Baker’s Assistant position. Candidate must be willing to work weekdays/nights, weekends and/or holidays. Essential Functions: Retard Dough: Manage and monitor doughs during cold fermentation in a refrigerator to control proofing and develop flavor and texture. Finishing: Decorate and assemble baked goods, and prepare them for display & sale Inventory: Help with inventory management and keeping bread shelves and viennoiserie display case stocked for retail sale. Operate baking equipment: Prepare pans and molds, set oven temperatures and monitor the baking process. Workstation maintenance: Keep the work area clean, organized and sanitary. This includes cleaning equipment and performing general upkeep during work shift. Cleaning: Dishes, work and storage surfaces, ingredient bins, ovens and floors. Receiving: unloading and inspecting deliveries from production commissary Maintaining organization of product in freezer and fridge Working knowledge of knives and other sharp objects. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and hygienic work are adhering strictly to all food safety standards. Responsibilities and duties as assigned by the General Manager and or Kitchen Manager. Physical Demands: Physical, Mental and Workplace Environment Conditions The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear The employee is frequently required to stand and walk Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance vision, color vision & focus Working Conditions: Workplace Environment Conditions Kitchen environment. The noise level in this workplace is usually moderate to high.
