Requirements

  • One year of experience in a bake shop or a baking setting.
  • Food handler’s permit.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and follow food preparation sheets.
  • Strong baking, pastry, and decorating skills.
  • Training in sanitation laws and procedures.
  • Two years of experience in a high-volume setting, or specialty kitchen experience.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work productively.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain a Class II gaming license.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
  • Required to be able to reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook items for baking.
  • Maintain a sanitary workstation.
  • Bake food in quantities according to persons to be served, and according to established recipes.
  • Inspect and taste prepared foods to maintain HACCP standards and sanitation.
  • Assist the Sous Chef in developing food lists and ensure that sufficient items are ordered weekly; eliminate or add items to list at direction of the Sous Chef.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
