About The Position

Do you enjoy early mornings, working with your hands, and have a passion for amazing food prepared from scratch? The Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Baker, who is driven, excels in a fast-paced kitchen, and is committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. A sense of urgency, attention to detail and commitment to quality are required. We are looking for someone with a great attitude that can work effectively in a team-based atmosphere, has effective communication skills, and is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic. The right fit will have the highest ability to mix, shape, and bake handcrafted savory breads, crackers, and rolls...just to name a few! Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads (mix/bake/shaping) and/or pastry is required. This a part-time position. Anticipated schedule will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, but exact scheduled days and hours may vary based on business need.

Requirements

Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads and/or pastry required
This position primarily works early morning shifts. Day, weekend and night shifts may be required on occasion, flexibility is a plus!
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Positive attitude
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

Measure and mix ingredients to shape breads, rolls, and desserts
Weigh materials to ensure appropriate quantity
Cut and mold dough into equal parts to ensure that each batch has a uniform appearance
Ensure that correct quantities of batches are being made
Ensure appropriate storage of baking utensils and supplies
Make sure that baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
Ensure compliance with food safety standards
Oversee cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
