Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
• Assist customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders, and providing food preparation suggestions.
• Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately.
• Receive and appropriately resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed.
• Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one-on-one customer interaction.
• Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
• Plan production and follow production sheets using Division Production Sheet.
• Thaw, proof, and bake production such as rolls, bread, cookies, pastries, and donuts.
• Fill display cases with product, rotate product, and pull outdated product from the sales floor as required.
• Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter.
• Cut and mold dough to form pie crust, rolls, cookies, and related products (applies only for scratch bakery).
• Bake and monitor product in the oven and adjust oven temperature as needed.
• Maintain bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and inventory levels.
• Ensure proper cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bakery area and equipment, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Ensure temperatures are maintained in all phases of preparation, display, and storage.
• Ensure proper signing of products and compliance with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
• Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness, maintaining inventory levels according to division directives.
• Stock and rotate product, maintaining and organizing the cooler.
• Understand opening and closing department procedures and follow department standards.
• Build displays, rotate, and discard outdated or spoiled product.
• Ensure cleanliness of work area and department, enforcing proper code dating for all products.
• Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
• Perform receiving duties including breaking downloads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
• Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines and follow proper packaging techniques.
• Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records, including daily log sheets and production charts.
• Control shrink and cost, complying with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
