About The Position

88 Acres creates inclusive foods that are better for our bodies, community and planet because we believe you can have it both ways. As a mission-driven brand we have our own allergen-friendly bakery in Massachusetts thoughtfully creating bars and butters with whole seeds and simple ingredients. The Baker I will work as part of the Production Team under the direction of the Production Manager, Production Supervisors, and Machine Operators. The Baker I will work directly on the production line producing 88 Acres snacks.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Previous experience in food production preferred but not required
  • Understanding of good manufacturing practices, food safety and food production preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks at different stations on the bar, butter or seed’nola production lines as assigned daily
  • Dough loading, handling, spreading, and catching dough in trays from the former
  • Taking and recording tray weights and weights of other products
  • Feeding and packing on the cartoner, packing bars from the flow wrappers
  • Palletizing products
  • Filling, labeling and packing jars and pouches
  • Work with the Machine Operators to ensure good flow at the station
  • Follow proper operating, safety and cleaning procedures as directed by the Production Manager, Supervisors and Machine Operators
  • Follow all SQF practices and applicable regulatory requirements as trained and directed by management
  • Report any deviation from process, quality or safety standards to a Machine Operator, Supervisor or Manager
  • Contribute to the care and maintenance of The Bakery by handling and using equipment and tools properly and following directions
  • Participate in cleaning and closing activities at the end of the shift/day
  • Help set up stations or prepare ingredients and tools for the next shift or day’s production as directed by the Production Manager and Supervisor
  • Other production related tasks as assigned by the shift manager/supervisors
